Actor Matt Bomer stars in Todd Snyder’s fall 2017 ad campaign

Todd Snyder has released its fall campaign, starring Matt Bomer, accompanied by a short film.

English photographer Matthew Brookes shot the campaign, which features Synder’s all-American fall clothes in a moody winter-beach setting. Brookes is known for shooting men like Jake Gyllenhall, James Franco and Michael Fassbender, mostly for GQ, and for Armani mens’ campaigns. The shoot took place on Fire Island, N.Y. and the photos are in both color and black and white – but both accent Bomer’s several day scruff – a a masculine fashion accessory for itself, these days.

Todd Snyder and actor Matt Bomer go back six years. Bomer was a fan of the designer’s, dating back to when Snyder designed for both Ralph Lauren and J. Crew, according to the mens’ fashion site Fashionisto. This summer, Bomer attended Snyder’s fall mens’ show in July, instagramming his photo there. It was almost a natural for the two to team up together for the sake of fashion; Bomer is considered something of a tv and film fashion icon.

Todd Snyder's eponymous menswear label was founded in 2011, opening its first flagship in New York City in 2016. The brand, known for its tailoring, is stocked by retailers including Mr. Porter, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.
