American site Charity Buzz is always looking for innovative ways to raise money. Dinner with a celebrity, VIP access to shows and now…internships at top fashion houses. The New York divisions of Balenciaga, Oscar de le Renta, Missoni and Valentino have all put one-month internships up for auction. At the time of writing, Balenciaga had the most interest with a bid of $2350 dollars, but with the bid ending on 30 October, it is quite possible that the bidding could reach $10,000.

The money made from this special auction will go to Rosie’s Theater Kids, an organization that aims to enrich the life of children through comedy. However, the “good will” act of these fashion houses at attracted a lot of attention on the web.

The one-month internship is aimed entirely at students and not at those that are simply curious to explore other options, the internship is unpaid, except for Balenciaga, who are offering a handbag at the end of the internship for the lucky winner. Ironic that the charity fights for equal access to the arts…
