2011 CVFF winner, Joseph Altuzarra, and 2010 CVFF runner-up, Prabal Gurung, announced the finalists, while David Neville of Rag & Bone announced that the prize was increased to $400,000 for the winner and $150,000 for the two runners-up.

Over the next few weeks, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Selection Committee, which includes Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Steven Kolb, Andrew Rosen, Reed Krakoff, Jenna Lyons, David Neville, Marcus Wainwright, Mark Holgate, Ken Downing and Jeffrey Kalinsky, will meet with each finalist to review their current collections, conduct in-depth interviews and visit their design studios.

The finalists will take part in a special design challenge for Fossil, and in October will travel to Los Angeles to present several looks at the Chateau Marmont. The winner will be announced in New York City on November 2.

Past CVFF program winners include Public School, Billy Reid, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler, and past runners-up include Thom Browne, Prabal Gurung, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Rodarte and Alexandre Plokhov among others. The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund has awarded $4.3 million to 30 design companies since its launch in 2004.
