The online survey conducted among 1,509 randomly selected Canadian adults revealed that Canadians could be spending upwards of $600 on Boxing Day and New Year's Eve alone.

Despite Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, Canadians are still loyal to their original sale occasion - Boxing Day - with 40 percent of Canadians stating they will always shop Boxing Day deals.

Fifty-eight percent of Canadians say they will shop in store for deals, though 60 percent are planning to ease the stress by spreading their shopping out over Boxing Week.

During these post-Christmas spending occasions, Canadians will likely be spending on themselves.

Canadians are spending an average of $215 on themselves alone during Boxing Day sales, while they are only expected to spend $209 on their spouse; $105 on their boyfriend/girlfriend; and $70 on hostess gifts on average.

Meanwhile, to ring in the new year, Canadians are planning to spend an average of $245 per person.

To wear the perfect outfit, they are planning on dishing out some $128 on clothes and $62 on grooming and beauty for the big night.
