Danish lingerie brand Change is planning a large Canadian expansion that will see the retail brand open 30 to 40 new stores across Canada, over the next three to five years.

Change’s ambitious plans will include an investment of more than $6 million. The brand’s immediate focus is on securing spaces of 600 to 1,000 square feet in super regional malls in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, according to Think Retail, the brokerage firm that partnered with Change just over a year ago for their retail expansion.

The company, which launched in Denmark in 1995 as a private label brand, today has more than 240 corporate and franchise stores across Europe, Asia and North America. In Canada, the company made its debut in 2006 and currently has 15 locations across the country - five stores in British Columbia, one in Saskatchewan, five in Ontario and four in Quebec.

Most recently, Change opened a 600-square-foot store at Park Royal South, in Metro Vancouver, as well as a 1,200-square-foot flagship in downtown Montreal. This summer, Quebec's
fifth location is slated to open at CF Carrefour Laval.

Seventy-five percent of Change’s revenue derives from the sale of underwear and bras, though the company also offers a selection of loungewear, swimwear, nightwear, and stockings.
