Citizen forms partnership with Naismith

Citizen Watches has announced its new alignment with the annual Naismith College Player of the Year Awards, dubbing the Citizen the official marketing partner of the awards.

The Naismith Trophy recognizes the most talented college-level female and male basketball players. The Naismith awards also recognize coaches and ex-players with astonishing lifetime achievements.

Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tip-Off Club told the press, "Citizen is known for producing high-end quality watches that accentuate superior performance, unparalleled technology, and prestige.  Citizen's core values match the attributes of our Naismith Trophy winners who are basketball's finest. Through this partnership, we will honor our most treasured asset – former Naismith Trophy winners – while also celebrating current athletes for their passion to achieve basketball excellence."

The awards recognize the 50 top players, the 30 top teams, 10 semi-finalists,4 finalists, and one winner. In conjunction with this partnership, Citizen will release a campaign honoring some of the top nominees. The Citizen and Naismith partnership will also bring about activations throughout the season, including social events and advertising campaigns on game days. Citizen will be officially known as the “Official Watch of the Naismith Trophy”.
