Online marketplace eBay Canada announced on Tuesday a partnership with Canadian Indigenous artists for a fall fashion collaboration.

Working with indigenous artists Jordan Bennett and Patrick Hunter, the collaboration consists of a four limited-edition scarf collection.

"We love working with Canadian talent to showcase their work on our powerful platform, while offering our buyers something exclusive to eBay," says Andrea Stairs, managing director, eBay Canada, in a news statement. "Over the years we've featured many different Canadian designers, and are thrilled to be able to present these pieces from Indigenous Canadians this fall.”

Each scarf will feature a print that links designs and symbols from the artist's Indigenous heritage, with fall 2016 colour trends. The scarves, which are made in Canada, will retail for $75 CAD with free shipping across Canada. All proceeds from the sales will go to each designer's not-for-profit organization of choice.

"This collaboration is just one example of how e-commerce can connect artists, entrepreneurs and businesses of all shapes and sizes with a broad market of national and international buyers," says Stairs. "This is particularly powerful for sellers in rural or remote areas of the country. Every day, Canadian eBay sellers defy the notion that you need to be located in an urban centre in order to have a successful commercial business."

This week, eBay Canada has equally launched a "Buy Canadian" event, highlighting the inventory eBay sellers bring to eBay.ca. In the past year alone, more than one million new Canadian items were added to the marketplace.
