From the spring/summer 2018n season, Italian fashion label Etro will present its men's and women's collections together in one show during women's Milan Fashion Week.

Etro catwalk shows have always been must-see events at Milan Fashion Week, whether for menswear or womenswear, all featuring a setting unique to each collection, mirroring the aesthetic of the looks created by Kean Etro, Creative Director for menswear, and his sister Veronica, in charge of the women's collections.

From next September however, the label known as a fabric specialist and for its signature paisley motifs will be showing only once per season. The spring/summer 2018 show will see it showing both its men's and women's collections in one co-ed event held during the women's fashion week.

"This will bring about the amalgamation of the two collections, through the joint work of our two creative directors," the label said in a press release, adding that how the mixed show format "is the best way to strengthen the brand's image, also giving the opportunity for telling the story of Etro and its values in the most coherent and effective way possible."

For the time being the label will continue to have twin creative directors, while adopting the new mixed show formula, as many other labels big and small have done in the last year.

Burberry was one of the first to go co-ed, followed Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Coach and Philipp Plein, among others.
