The Retrospective Collection will be available both online and in-store and will include 20 different styles from across the brand's history, from its founding in 1998 to present. Prices range between $95 and $1,595. The collection's release at Barneys New York is a nod to Eugenia Kim's own past, as Barneys was the first major retailer to carry her designs.

Notable examples of the New York-based designer's accessories include pieces worn by Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson at the 2001 VMA’s, the black leather beret worn by Beyoncé at the 2018 Grammy Awards, and a wedding-day headpiece made for Princess Madeleine of Sweden.

In the past, Kim has collaborated with photographer David Lachapelle and launched capsule collections at Urban Outfitters, Target, Opening Ceremony and Coach

Kim, an Ivy-League graduate, got her start in fashion as an assistant at Allure magazine. Her first foray into design was the result of a bad haircut, which inspired Kim to design hats that would remind her of hair. She quickly began to receive compliments on her new headwear, and soon retailers began asking to carry her designs in their stores. Her brand has since expanded to include collections of bags and shoes.
