Fashion industry heavyweights pitch in at the 2016 FIT Future of Fashion show

Eighty of FIT’s graduating bachelor of art fashion design students will present their designs at the annual Future of Fashion runway show taking place May 5.

Fashion industry heavyweights, including Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia and Dushane Noble of Narciso Rodriguez, have mentored students in preparation for the show.

Nicole Phelps, director of Vogue Runway, Senior VP and Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus Ken Downing and editor-in-chief of Siempre Mujer Jessica Torres, among others, are serving as judges for this year’s show.
 
Siempre Mujer, a leading Spanish language women's lifestyle magazine, is sponsoring the Best Use of Color critics’ award for the fourth time. The award is given to the student designer whose use of color most enhances the design of his or her garment.

Established in 1944, The Fashion Institute of Technology is a State University of New York (SUNY). The school grants associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art, design, business and technology.
