To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, record label Fool’s Gold has opened a new retail shop in Brooklyn. The Williamsburg space will sell pieces from Fool’s Gold’s clothing line.
Located at 147 Grand Street, the permanent retail location will sell both clothing and music, and function as an art gallery, event space and clubhouse. The current clothing offerings are from the label’s summer 2017 collection, titled “New York’s Loudest,” which includes t-shirts, sportswear, baseball cap and other accessories. The store also has vinyl records encompassing Fool’s Gold’s ten years in the business.
The new flagship store was designed by Family New York. The New York-based design firm was also responsible for Off-White’s retail stores and Kanye West’s Yeezus stage design. The shop’s built-in bespoke fixtures were created by Brooklyn design studio The Principals.
DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs founded the record label in 2007, which is known for its annual Day Off party in New York City. The two opened a Fool’s Gold store on Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Avenue in 2011, which closed in 2016. The record company partnered with San Francisco-based streetwear brand Black Scale on a capsule collection in 2015. Fool’s Gold launched its own clothing line in 2016, with a collection of branded sweatshirts and casualwear.
