American leather goods company Ghurka opened this week its third US retail location in New York City at 831 Madison Avenue. The new store replaces the company’s previous New York City retail location on Fifth Avenue.

Kathy Formby, Creative Director of Ghurka, led the design of the Madison Avenue store interior, which features custom lacquer paint in the label’s signature military khaki color, Louis XVI parquet flooring imported from France and antiqued brass shelves.

Ghurka is offering its full collection of leather goods and accessories in store, including briefcases, backpacks, totes, messenger bags, and wallets, as well as a Surplus capsule collection of one-of-a-kind bags from the Ghurka archive. Each piece from the collection is hand-washed in Los Angeles and antiqued in New York.

The leather goods company is also offering in store the Ghurka x Céline Cousteau World Travel Journal, and will donate 25% of all proceeds from sales of this product to Cousteau’s impact campaign. The filmmaker stars in the company’s fall 2017 campaign, and partnered to create the leather-bound notebook that retails for $150.

Ghurka currently operates stores at The King of Prussia Mall and The Mall at Short Hills in Short Hills, NJ.
