The 4,700-square-foot, two-floor boutique opens just in time for Art Basel Miami, which kicks off on December 7. The Miami Design District store carries the full fall 2017 collection, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, jewelry and accessories, the Cruise 2018 collection, the new Gucci Décor collection that first launched in September at Bergdorf Goodman, and exclusive pieces by frequent collaborator Coco Capitán.

Capitán, who partnered with Gucci on a capsule collection that launched in July, also designed a special mural illustration for the boutique’s façade. The mural is an extension of the murals that the Spanish artist had done for Gucci in New York City and Milan.

Travel is a central theme for the store’s design, referencing the history of the fashion house. Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele designed the store’s exterior façade that is constructed in marble and pale green industrial metal, as well as the interior that features European white oak floors in a herringbone design, a one-of-a-kind red lacquered wood staircase, and a private room with artisanal marble mosaic floors and pink fabric walls.

Gucci currently operates 10 retail locations in Florida, including an outlet location at Sawgrass Mills.
