JNCO denim is attempting to make a move into the kid's sector, launching a Kickstarter campaign to help the brand bring its iconic denim to the younger generation.

The brand is searching for $100,000 from public investors, which will help the brand develop and produce a line of children’s jeans, tees, and hoodies, as well as pay for shipping, packing, and branding.

As JNCO chairman Isaac Cohen told the press, "JNCO is a down to earth brand. We feel that a crowdfunding campaign will allow us to have a closer reach with the supporters of JNCO. We chose to crowdfund this project so supporters can pre-order kids gear, get great deals on JNCO apparel, and get access to once-in-a-lifetime bonus JNCO goodies."

The brand is looking to target kids age 5-15. JNCO thinks it may have found a niche in the childrenswear market - the denim brand believes the strong brand name and key products will push adults who may not wear JNCOs themselves to dress their children in JNCOs.

The 36-day campaign will begin on April 3rd. If the brand is successful in raising the funds, the collection will hit shelves in the summer of 2017.

JNCO rose to fame in the 1990’s, most notably for its wide-leg denim favored by rebellious teens. Two years ago, the brand came back for the grave after being relaunched by Andrew Jacovou, CEO of Chinese garment company Guotai Litian. The brand started selling three collections: a core collection of basics, a fashion collection of trend-forward products, and a heritage collection of the nostalgic silhouettes the brand has become known for. Since the relaunch, JNCO denim has been seen on such trendsetters as  Rihanna and FKA Twigz.
