Moschino unveils furniture collection

Jeremy Scott has announced that he will be taking his head-turning designs to the furniture world, showing his inaugural furniture collection for Moschino during the upcoming Milan Design Week at Moschino's Milanese outpost.

The capsule collection, created with famed Italian furniture house Gufram, will be dubbed the “Moschino Kisses Gufram” collection, in reference to the kiss motif Scott has used in various Moschino collections.

The collection will include four pieces of furniture, all referencing iconic Moschino pieces from Scott’s ready-to-wear collection with the brand.  Moschino’s biker jacket purse from several seasons ago will be translated into a cabinet, while a pair of big red lips, a design that has been seen throughout countless Moschino collections, will be turned into a sofa. A  pair of black Moschino-branded pumps has been transformed into a bookshelf and an ottoman.

Scott told Wonderland Magazine, “The lips sofa is one of the most indelible design creations of all time! I was honored to leave my finger print on this icon with this limited edition Zipped Lips! version on the Bocca. Making a play on the phrase ‘zip your lips’ and the zipper that links back to the Biker Bag, it is this simple addition that brings it into the Moschino family. Gufram’s furnishings strike all the cords that I subscribe to design: they are playful, ironic and iconic. This partnership between Moschino and Gufram is a true celebration of pop culture”.

The furniture collection will be on display during the Milan Design Week, at the Moschino Flagship Store in Milan in early April. Prices for the collection have not yet been released.
