The Tiffany Bartok-directed documentary will make its premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival in early October. The documentary follows the makeup artist’s career until his death in 2002.

It was announced in September 2016 that Kevyn Aucoin was getting the documentary treatment. Now the film, titled Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story, will make its debut at the 25th Hamptons International Film Festival, which is scheduled to run from October 5 to 9.

The film is backed by Vinyl Foote Productions and Matador Content, and executive produced by Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, Bobby Kondrat and Jack Turner. Troy Surratt, who trained under Aucoin and now has his own namesake makeup line, is also a producer.

The documentary includes interviews with many supermodels who worked with Aucoin in the 1990s, including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington Burns, Kate Moss and Paulina Porizkova. Bartok’s documentary will also showcase Aucoin’s work as an activist for LGBTQ rights, as well as his drug use and eventual death at the age of 40 in 2002.

Aucoin’s namesake makeup brand recently released a special edition collection of palettes to honor the 20th anniversary of Aucoin’s famed book, Making Faces. The makeup palettes retail for $75 on his brand’s online store.
