Overall, beauty brands are making a large digital push to better reach consumers through AR platforms. Sephora launched an app this spring in partnership with AR app company Modiface that allows consumers to try on makeup looks at home.

Consumer expectations continue to demand more interactive features in the beauty industry as well as from retail on the whole. An additional tech development in the beauty industry includes a platform from HiMirror Plus, which recommends products based on scans of users' faces. MakeupPlus uses a similar concept to deliver personalized skincare suggestions from the user's mobile device.

Owned by Perfect Corp., YouCam is not new to launching AR campaigns in the beauty industry. It previously partnered with Paul Mitchell to give consumers an experience where they could try on hair colors and looks through their mobile platform.

Kristofer Buckle is best known in the professional beauty industry for creating looks for Blake Lively and Mariah Carey. His first YouCam collection consists of a series of six looks in a Fantasy Series where users can try on extreme beauty trends to challenge their standard beauty looks. It marks the start of ongoing collaboration between Buckle and YouCam.

YouCam Makeup has 450 million downloads. It is available as a free download both for Apple and Google mobile products.
