Former head of digital marketing at Banana Republic and Old Navy Tamar Miller has announced the launch of online-exclusive women’s footwear brand Bells & Becks, aiming to offer luxury European shoes to US consumers at affordable prices.

The San Francisco-based brand’s launch collection is focused on flats but further assortments are in the pipeline, including a selection of booties slated for release in Fall 2018.

Bells & Becks pieces are manufactured in Italian factories with a long tradition in producing handmade footwear. The shoes are made using Italian leather, including components such as insoles, outsoles and linings.

“Most shoes sold in the U.S. are mass-produced, often resulting in style duplication and comparatively low quality,” stated Miller in a release, “What differentiates Bells & Becks is our production and the versatility that our collection provides. Product is made by hand in small batches at artisanal factories in Italy to ensure we deliver on distinctiveness and luxury quality.”

Miller has more than 25 years of experience as a professional shoe merchant in the US retail market, having worked for a range of retailers including Lord and Taylor, Macy’s, and Piperlime.

With Bells & Becks, she hopes to fill a gap in the market, offering a high-quality product at a lower price by cutting out the wholesale mark-up incorporated by many retailers. Prices in the brand’s launch line range from $185 for sandals to $365 for booties

The Bells & Becks website is now live, offering free shipping and returns to the US, as well as shipping to other countries for an additional fee.
