Mad Engine announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Southern California-based brand Neff from Marlin Equity Partners and the Neff Family. The acquisition follows Mad Engine’s acquisition of LRG in March.

Neff Headwear

Launched by Shaun Neff in 2002, Neff was the first authentic core snow and skate headwear company in the world. With the acquisition, Neff will operate under Mad Engine’s branded division that launched with the acquisition of LRG, and Shaun Neff will join the company as Chief Creative Officer.

Mad Engine plans to continue its aggressive growth plan of maintaining its foothold in the licensing world while diversifying into the branded apparel and accessory space.

"We're excited to have this opportunity to acquire Neff, a brand we've long admired and feel has significant untapped potential. And, naturally, we're thrilled to welcome Shaun to our Mad Engine team,” said Mad Engine CEO, Danish Gajiani. "Shaun is a uniquely talented guy with tons of great, actionable ideas, not only for the Neff business, but for Mad Engine as a whole."

Mad Engine was founded in 1987 as a small t-shirt supplier and today is a designer and distributor of licensed apparel.
