Marshalls looks to Pinterest and YouTube for newest campaign

Marshalls has kicked off a new contest in which it's merchandising team will curate and deliver surprise boxes of product to Pinterest influencers.

The new campaign is called Pin Pals. It is born from market research done by Marshalls showing 92 percent of women are open to trying a new look.

As fall hits and Pinterest use ramps up, Marshalls is also encouraging followers to use several hashtags on their boards to enter into the running for the contest.

Pin Pals are chosen for their home, beauty and fashion apparel boards with experts in each category pulling from Marshalls' product line and putting together a box that will be delivered to the Pinterest influencer as a surprise.

To kick off the campaign, Marshalls partnered with YouTube star Mr. Kate who is a home fashion and lifestyle expert.

"The best inspiration comes from collaboration, and I love having the opportunity to exchange ideas and discover finds with my community online," said Mr. Kate Albrecht.

Mr. Kate said, "I've always thought of Marshalls like a real-life Pinterest board – you never know what surprising things you'll find just by strolling the aisles."

In addition to teaming up with YouTube and social media influencers, Marshalls has opened the Pin Pals contest up to regular consumers and Pinterest users who can hashtag their boards and enter the contest until November 7, 2016
