NRF hails US Senate passage of tax reform legislation

The National Retail Federation, the world’s largest retail trade association with members from the United States and more than 45 countries, has welcomed the recent passage of a tax reform legislation by the US Senate, saying the action will help boost consumer confidence and savings from reforms could be enough to pay for many families’ holiday shopping.

“Consumers and voters are beginning to realize that tax reform will create jobs, leave more money in the pockets of middle-class Americans and give our nation’s economy the biggest boost it’s seen in decades,” an NRF press release said quoting president and CEO Matthew Shay.

The NRF hopes members of the House of Representatives and the Senate will reconcile the differences between their versions of the legislation and a final bill is signed into law at the earliest, Shay added.
