The shoe design derived from the brand’s classic 998 Model for men will be available online, in Montreal New Balance stores and select retail locations such as Off the Hook, as of Friday, June 23, in limited quantity. Inspired by the colours of Montreal nightlife, the exclusive shoe comes in suede in tones of black, asphalt grey and midnight blue, and features the slogans “MTL” and “375” embroidered on each of the back heals.

The shoe will retail at $280 and will be available in sizes 7 to 13 for men. Sneakerheads will have to move fast however, as only 96 pairs have been created.

Most recently, New Balance collaborated with Stance to redesign New Balance's 997 and 1978 sneakers. In the past, New Balance has equally partnered with brands such as Norse Projects, Kith, J. Crew and Grenson on exclusive partnership sneakers.

New Balance also joins a number of other brands celebrating Montreal's 375th birthday with exclusive merchandise like Montreal-based outerwear brand Rudsak with its collection of lightweight packable puffer jackets, seasonal clothing, as well as accessories commemorating the festivities.
