Noah to launch collaboration collection with The Cure

New York City-based menswear label Noah launches on Thursday a collaboration capsule with The Cure.

The Noah, The Cure collaboration collection

The 12-piece capsule collection draws inspiration from the rock band’s album art over the years and its graphical history. The collection consists of polka dot long sleeve shirts in a nod to the shirts that longtime band member Robert Smith wore over the years, a Disintegration t-shirt named after the band’s album from 1989 and a Boys Don’t Cry leather jacket, which gets its name from the second single of the band’s first album Three Imaginary Boys.

"The Cure is my all-time-favorite band and we are extremely excited to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Robert and the band,” said Noah Founder & Creative Director Brendon Babenzien.

“The funny thing about The Cure is they have always had amazing graphics and art and did a lot with them. Usually we have to take things and make them more interesting; with The Cure, we simplified the ideas, which in contrast to what they have done traditionally, looks new."

The collaboration is reminiscent of Supreme’s many collaboration capsules, something Babenzien knows well, having led Supreme as Design Director for several years. The Noah Founder and now Billionaire Boys Club Bee Line Creative Director stepped away from Supreme in 2015 to relaunch Noah. The label has since opened two freestanding stores and operates a shop-in-shop at Dover Street Market in London.

The collaboration capsule by Noah and The Cure will be available at Noah stores in New York City and on the Noah website, at Dover Street Market NY, London and Ginza, Comme des Garçons Korea, Slam Jam and Ssense.
