It has been a busy few years since Nordstrom first set eyes on Canada, but the American retailer has finally completed its full-line Canadian expansion as planned.

On Friday, the fashion retailer opened its doors at CF Sherway Gardens, inaugurating Nordstrom’s third location in Toronto and completing the company's full-line expansion plan of six stores in Canada.

The 140,000 square-foot store, features five shoe departments, a restaurant and bar, a coffee bar, beauty and accessory areas and a selection of fashion brands for men, women and children. The new store equally has an area dedicated to Korean beauty products called KBeauty - a first for the company – and houses an At Home department featuring bed, bath, dining and home décor and gifts.

The new location follows store openings at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre last fall. The retailer equally opened locations at CF Rideau Centre in Ottawa, CF Pacific Place in Vancouver, as well as its first Canadian store opening in September of 2014, at CF Chinook Centre in Calgary.

"Our journey with Nordstrom began in 2012 when we jointly announced their entry into Canada through Cadillac Fairview shopping centres," said John Sullivan, President and CEO, Cadillac Fairview, in a news statement. "Today, we are thrilled to stand alongside Nordstrom to celebrate the opening of their store with us at CF Sherway Gardens and the first to serve shoppers in Toronto's west end."

Still, there’s more to come for Canada from the American retail giant.

The company’s off-price division Nordstrom Rack is set to debut its first Canadian store in the spring at Vaughan Mills in Toronto on March 22, 2018. Five other Nordstrom Rack openings are also planned in Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary on April 26, 2018; One Bloor in Toronto on May 3, 2018; and three stores in fall 2018 at The Ottawa Train Yards in Ottawa, South Edmonton Common in Edmonton, and Heartfeld Town Centre in Mississauga.

Nordstrom currently operates 356 stores including 121 full-line stores and 224 Nordstrom Rack stores.
