Paris haute couture: Yiqing Yin

In the words of Chinese-born, Paris-raised designer Yiqing Yin, her latest collection entitled "Oxymoron" marks a "turning point" in her career.

After having explored her dreamlike world populated by mutating creatures for several seasons, filled with morphing characters -- be they animal or vegetal -- she has extracted their essence. She has recentered herself and put form and fabric at the heart of her couture.

For Spring, the body is at the center of everything. Draped pieces seem instinctive and thrown in, with fluid washed or liquid silks and alpaca that seem to have been casually wrapped around the body, in the simplest fashion.

Fabrics flow, angles and curves collide and merge, deconstructing the elements of masculine tailoring exemplified in matte grey flannel pants, oversize overcoats and a stunning winter bustier dress featuring.

Muslin and satin add a shot of glamour, along with standout evening looks like the dazzling jet black second skin ensembles in "burnout jersey," tattooed with Swarovski crystals.

For Yiqing Yin, SS15 is all about melody. This collection illustrates a newfound harmony. She has fine-tuned her raw creativity, and the result is both flawless and a little more commercial.
