Peggy Sue wins TFI New Label competition

On May 3, the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) hosted the TFI New Label Fashion Show & Gala Fundraiser.

Emerging Canadian designer Peggy Sue Deaven-Smiltnieks for Peggy Sue Collection walked away with the grand prize earning her the title of “best new label” as well as a $25,000 cash prize and a full spread in Flare Magazine.

Peggy Sue is a womenswear designer who works directly with farmers, start-up mills and artisans to design sustainable clothing. The three other event finalists included Karen Quirion for KQK; Defne Husrevoglu for Gun Control; and Angelene Fenuta for Angelëne.

The event was hosted by Glen Baxter and took place in Toronto.
 
TFI is an award-winning non-profit organization. It was established in 1987 as the world’s first fashion incubator.
