Rent the Runway and UBS announced this month the return of Project Entrepreneur. Out of 200 female-founded startup companies, 12 finalists were selected to pitch their businesses to a panel of investor judges at the second annual intensive.

Project Entrepreneur provides founders with the opportunity to change their fledgling businesses into high-growth companies. Like the year prior, the 12 finalists will pitch their businesses for a chance to receive a $10,000 grant and participate in a five-week accelerator program.

This year’s finalists, which range from orthopedics, apparel and tech companies, include New York City-based companies CottageClass, Curative Orthopaedics, Loli Beauty, Reboundwear, and Repeat Roses; Lace & Liberty of San Francisco; Cleveland’s Parihug; Parking Vision Information Technologies (ParkIt) from Dallas; The Mentor Method of Washington DC; and Scottsdale, AZ’s The Touchpoint Solution –“Buzzies". The finalists will present at the live pitch competition on April 8.

The two companies partnered to launch Project Entrepreneur in 2015 to highlight female entrepreneurs and address women’s involvement at high growth firms. The winners of the 2016 intensive, Full Harvest, Cake, Komae, and Claire, raised their first round of seed funding following the event.

The second annual intensive will also include keynote conversations and sessions with Bluemercury Co-founder and CEO Marla Beck, Poppy Harlow of CNN, and Hayley Barna, Venture Partner at First Round Capital and Co-Founder of Birchbox among others.

The 2017 Project Entrepreneur intensive will be held in New York City from April 7-8.
