Following the appointment, Rocky Brands canceled its search for a new CEO. Brooks previously served as CEO of the company from August 1991 to July 2011 before being named interim CEO.

Mike Brooks stated, “Since coming back to serve as interim Chief Executive Officer in early September, I have been reenergized by the skills and devotion of our associates to design, manufacture and deliver quality footwear to our customers. As we bring a close to what has been a difficult year, I believe that we are laying the groundwork for improved performance in 2017 and beyond and I look forward to working with the entire Rocky Brands team in 2017."

The Ohio-based company recently reported increases in net sales due in part to its military contracts. Rocky Brands in February began fulfilling orders for “Temperate Weather” combat boots, and in October, it entered into a military contract for “Hot Weather” combat boots. The comany will begin fulfilling orders in the first half of 2017.
