Founded in 1976 and acquired by Alex Zhang in 2014, the Japanese men's and womenswear brand is trying its hand at e-commerce with the launch of an official online store.

Ryujee, having relaunched in the spring and autumn of 2016, went on to strengthen its retail presence in France and expanded into European markets (Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Austria, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic).

Thanks to the retail development, the brand now has a distribution network of 450 sales outlets in Europe, excluding France, which has nearly 150. In crossing a new threshold, Ryujee wants to come to customers online via the launch of its e-shop, developed in-house.

According to Gérard Colas, the brand's sales director, the idea is "to continue to make the Ryujee brand known and to develop sales, without neglecting current stores."

In getting there, the e-commerce store looks to promote the stores where Ryujee is sold and offer a major selection of both men's and women's collections, but not all of it.

Collections have expanded these past seasons with the addition of women's accessories, as well as supplementary products for men, and notably, a sports line.

In the coming months, the brand intends to conquer new markets abroad, except in the United States and Canada where Ryujee is already present via an importer.
