Sigerson Morrison is going digital. The women’s footwear label founded by Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison is shutting down its brick-and-mortar locations to shift its focus on e-commerce, much like BCBG and Bebe, which also shuttered stores to move focus on online sales.

This week, Sigerson Morrison closed its last and oldest retail location on Prince Street in New York City. Marc Fisher Footwear, the label’s parent company, emailed a statement to discuss the brand's shift in focus to online.

“The transition away from brick-and-mortar reflects Sigerson Morrison’s efforts to focus resources on the growth segments of our business, wholesale and e-commerce,” said Marc Fisher Footwear President Susan Itzkowitz. “We are excited by the opportunity to expand the reach of our brand.”

Founded in 1991, Sigerson Morrison operated close to 10 stores in New York City and California. The founders sold the label to Marc Fisher Footwear in 2006 and parted ways with the brand in the following years. Kari Sigerson in 2015 founded footwear brand Alumnae with Eliza Axelson-Chidsey.

Sigerson Morrison is one of several brands under the Marc Fisher Footwear portfolio, alongside the Marc Fisher namesake label, Ivanka Trump, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess and Kendall + Kylie among others.
