The 44,000-square-foot store is slated to open in fall of 2019 in Vancouver at The Amazing Brentwood, a mega mall and residential redevelopment of Brentwood Town Centre currently under construction.

“Vancouver’s renowned active and health conscious population provides an ideal foundation for launching Sporting Life on the West coast,” said Sporting Life co-founder and CEO David Russell, in a news statement.

“We’ve had our eye on this city since Patti (co-founder of Sporting Life) and I lived in Vancouver years back. We see the value in this market and believe in the retail environment. We hope to ultimately have three stores in the greater Vancouver area.”

The Vancouver store will be inspired by a west coast ambiance that plays on British Columbia’s well-known active lifestyle. It will carry a range of premium brands such as Arc’teryx, Canada Goose, Moncler, Nike, Adidas, as well as advanced technologies from Burton, Salomon, Volkl, Cannondale, Babolat and more.

The opening is a part of a larger strategy the Canadian sports retailer has planned to reach new audiences and further expand both in-store and online.

Sporting Life currently has 12 stores across Ontario and in Calgary, Alberta, and plans to operate up to 20 locations in the next couple of years across the country.

Later this summer, the company will equally launch a new website, which will adapt to users’ interests and deliver individualized product offerings.

The retailer was founded in 1979.
