The expansion encompasses Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, but the initial launch will encompass 25 storefronts in Indonesia. Mutual comments reported from Jane Elfers, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Children's Place and Mr. J.S. Gill, Chairman of Gill Capital conclude that both brands decided upon the partnership based on mutual success levels on each continent. “We are making significant strides in our International franchise business, and we remain focused on providing great fashion and value for children around the world,” said Elfers.

As of 2009, The Children’s Place appointed former Lord & Taylor CEO Jane T. Elfers as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. Founded in 1969, The Children’s Place currently operates 1,033 stores in the U.S., Canada owned and operated by six franchise partners in 18 countries.

Gill Capital—a Singapore-based company with operations in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia—owns copious labels in the areas of fashion (including the area of children), sweets and food and beverage.
