In this role, Pruitt will manage the company's brand marketing, creative, content and marketing communications.

Previous to joining The Honest Company, Pruitt served as the chief content officer at media company Carat USA, and as president of entertainment company The Story Lab.

With this new addition to its executive team, the company hopes to build on its two most popular product categories, baby care and beauty products.

"As we continue to focus our efforts on two categories where global consumers and retailers are demanding more natural offerings – baby and beauty – we know talent will continue to drive our company's momentum and growth," Nick Vlahos, CEO of The Honest Company, said in a press release. "With her extensive marketing, brand building, digital and entertainment background, Pruitt will bring a fresh perspective to our company as we take our brand global."

Pruitt holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Oregon, as well as a BA in Japanese. A boost to the company's socially conscious image, Pruitt has spoken publicly on the topic of equality in media, and has served on various awards panels and advisory boards for Adweek and other marketing organizations.

Known for its natural baby, personal care, household and beauty products, The Honest Company was co-founded by former-actress Jessica Alba in 2012. The company brands itself as a source of products that are tested and guaranteed to be safe for babies and adults.

Currently, The Honest Company manages more than 17,000 retail locations, and plans to launch throughout Europe at select Douglas retail locations in 2019.
