The Little Market, former MTV star Lauren Conrad's lifestyle brand, has opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in Palisades Village, the recently opened outdoor retail center in Los Angeles' Pacific Palisades.

Founded by Conrad along with co-founder and friend Hannah Skvarla in 2013, the brand follows a nonprofit, fair-trade model and offers a variety of goods, including jewelry, knits, woven bags, candles and home décor. Prior to its new Palisades Village home, the brand existed exclusively online.

The handmade items sold at The Little Market are ethically sourced from craft makers in countries around the world, including Kenya, Morocco and Mexico. All profits made from product sales are distributed between the business and its artisans, with neither Conrad nor Skvarla taking a salary cut.

Previous to this venture, Conrad forayed into the retail world with LC Lauren Conrad, a collaborative line of apparel with Kohl's department stores. The former star of The Hills also runs two websites centered on her personal brand, life and beauty recommendations, laurenconrad.com and thebeautydepartment.com.

Palisades Village is the brainchild of billionaire real-estate developer Rick Caruso, whose previous shopping and entertainment centers include The Grove in Los Angeles, The Americana in Glendale and The Commons at Calabasas.

Along with The Little Market, the new shopping center will also be home to fellow brick-and-mortar first-timers Jennifer Meyer and Rachel Zoe, with the the latter taking up a "temporary residency".
