The five-day event provides a platform for emerging designers and fashion-tech startups to increase visibility through a variety of networking events, conferences and a runway show.

A kick-off for the event on October 4 will feature keynote speaker Barbara Atkin, former vice-president of Fashion Direction at Holt Renfrew. October 5 and 6, will welcome the Fashion Career and the Fashion tech forum where fashion career advice and the future of fashion will be discussed.

The event will end on October 7 with a runway show highlighting five featured designers, three wearable tech startups and a collaboration with The City of Toronto and Toronto fashion brand Henkaa. The runway show will feature startups from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, San Francisco, San Antonio and Australia.

"I'm pleased and excited to once again offer a platform for startups in fashion and fashion-tech to increase their exposure to the industry," says Jodi Goodfellow, Founder and Executive Producer of SFW, in a news statement. "Startup Fashion Week has, over the last two years, helped launch and accelerate awareness for 12 designers and more than 20 fashion-tech startups, and we are thrilled to continue to be a key driver in the success of the startup fashion industry."

Startup Fashion Week (SFW) is the first of its kind, representing the newly developed intersection of fashion, business and technology. It was conceived in 2014 by founder and executive producer Jodi Goodfellow.
