In a release, Scott Baxter, VF’s group president, Americas West said, “[Campbell's] deep experience in the outdoor industry and personal passion for the outdoors, combined with his proven track record of business leadership make him the ideal person to oversee the Americas region."

Prior to joining VF Corp, Campbell worked for fly fishing products manufacturer and distributor Far Bank Enterprises. He held various leadership roles before ultimately becoming their President and CEO. Earlier in his career he worked at Deloitte and Andersen Consulting. He joined VF Corp last February as Smartwool's president.

McLaren joined VF Corp in 2011, when Smartwool and Timberland were acquired by the company, and was appointed chief financial officer of Smartwool in 2011. She had previously been the CFO of Timberland, a company that she joined in 2003. Prior to Timberland, McLaren worked at Arthur Andersen and Softbank Capital.

Baxter said of McLaren that she "knows the Smartwool brand inside and out and has a passion for purpose-led businesses, all of which positions her to propel the brand in the years ahead.”

McLaren will continue to be based out of Smartwool's Steamboat Springs, CO headquarters. Campbell will relocate to Alameda, CA to The North Face's headquarters. Both appointments are effective immediately.
