Leonard- Fashion Show Ready to Wear Spring-Summer 2016 in Paris (with interview)

An explosion of colours and prints at Leonard. For Summer 2016 Yiqing Yin mixes childhood memories and feminine sensuality. Colouring crayon scribbles are displayed on suit trousers, there are also tags, flowers, text extracts, paint strokes… The designer thinks about the works of David Hockney and Andy Warhol by offering a light and structured collection. The top is short whilst the trousers are loose. A transparent effect is revealed through a long skirt or a mac in silk and nylon organza. The dresses are fluid or on the contrary are constructed round a corset with large pleats, ruffles, a pleated fabric. Please note: some outfit proposals to be worn either day or night.Interview from: Yiqing YinIt is a dialogue between two things, between the architecture of clothing and colourful expression which takes prime place. It is the joy that catches the eye it is uncompromised and therefore it reflects eventually into the silhouettes. We finally chose to have quite two dimensional silhouettes as if they were children’s collages in a colouring book. There are large foldings, some origami systems, lacing with the Leonard strip which is something very traditional and it is how I used to hold clothes together, with this house code.
