Artistic Director : Angela MissoniAtmosphere : A festive anniversary show with a colourful backdrop to celebrate 20 years of Angela Missoni as the house’s artistic director. Collection: A celebration of texture, a juxtaposition, with an ode to transparency and sensuality. Two silhouettes confront each other one is floaty, fluid and the other figure hugging. The iconic zig zag is reinterpreted in a summer version through miniskirts and light cardigans. Mesh is blended to Lurex to add more luminosity. To note: The leggings strewn with sequins, the huge wide brimmed hats that cover the eyes, the fluid lace backless dress, the numerous stripes and the patterns of masks that adorn loose jumpers.Angela Missoni : It’s a party collection because when I was thinking of my twenty years, I though what am I going to do, I have to celebrate my twenty years. But then I said no. But next year, Missoni is going to celebrate 65 years so maybe this is the time to do a big retrospective. Good, but what am I going to do to celebrate my anniversary? So I’m going to throw a party. I’m going to throw a lovely party and I started to think that all the boys and girls who were on the catwalk had participate in my party. So it’s a party collection. There’s real lace on the mesh, lace meshing, tulle throughout the show and in all dimensions. And very very fine mesh, I decided upon having mesh that I called chiffon mesh which gave a certain transparency, but also gave a certain volume to the clothes. It was light, in my opinion, it was to give joy, light, pace, I wanted something very very fresh.Rosita Missoni : The weather was with us, there was a crowd of friends. And me, I was a spectator because I didn’t want to see any of this collection because I really wanted to be a member of the audience. For me it has to be a surprise. It’s a beautiful fulfilment of her life and her work and the work of our family. Music from the show (For use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
