Minimalist fashion brand AYR has kicked its premium offering up a notch with the launch of its first line of high-end jeans for fall 2017. The One Love Jean, available in sizes 14-22, retails from September 12 at Ayr.com and Nordstrom.

The One Love Jean ($195) is a plus-size version of the brand’s best-selling dark wash skinny jean — though it was redesigned to have features such as a flattering waistband, an elongated leg and material that holds its shape.

Along with staples like jackets, camis and day dresses, the New York-based company has already been selling denim in straight sizes, but AYR  co-founders  Maggie Winter and Jac Cameron made the decision to add plus-sizes in an effort to fill a much-needed void in the marketplace. "We design clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident, and we deliver quality consistently and conveniently – and that should be totally inclusive– it should be for everyone,” Winter said.

According to Creative Director Jac Cameron, “AYR came about as part of a collective feeling that the marketplace was saturated with either highly expensive, unattainable clothing or on the other hand throwaway, trendy product. I felt there was a need to create a brand that instinctually spoke to an independent woman, a new consumer who lives her life online and who not only expects but demands incredible quality and outstanding service. The variation in size outside of traditional premium denim offering really sets us apart. We are excited to offer this to women who are shopping in the extended size range and may not be able to find a premium product in denim.”

The duo are not the only ones in the industry who feel this way. Designer Jeff Cafone just debuted his first plus-size line of leather jackets and knitwear because he felt the market was lacking pieces that offered quality and style.

There is no word yet as to whether or not the brand will add additional plus-size offerings.
