The menswear company was started by cofounders Jamal Motlagh and Charles Tse. The brand's website explains that "Acustom Apparel uses innovative digital technologies to craft custom clothing," bringing intelligent fit to menswear.

Using a 3D body scanner, a full set of measurements can be taken in 15 minutes. Repeat scans are offered to make sure that fit is truly perfect.

Motlagh explained, “I was shocked that with today’s technology there wasn’t an affordable way to get custom clothing. That is why I started Acustom Apparel.”

The consumer experience at the Design Bar allows consumers to participate in a very hands-on custom design and development process, picking trims, preferred fit, and colors, even down to a contrast stitch. Body scans can be used to make jeans, shirts, and full suiting.

The final bespoke goods are ready 3-6 weeks after the initial visit, either available for in store pickup or shipped direct to the consumer's home.

The LA store joins an already existing Design Bar in NY. The LA store is located at 8065 W. 3rd Street, and is open 7 days a week.
