After the launch of her fashion brand and her YouTube channel, Alexa Chung now has another headline-grabbing string to her bow and will front a new Netflix fashion design competition that will debut “soon”.

Alexa Chung will front the new Netflix fashion designer contest

The fashion influencer and entrepreneur has been signed up to present Next in Fashion, which aims to unearth the sector’s next big name, and also comes with the promise of a $250,000 prize plus the chance for the winning designer to have their debut collection sold on key luxury e-tail site Net-A-Porter.

The 10-part series will also be presented by Queer Eye star Tan France and will focus on 18 designers. It’s not for beginners as all of the designers taking part have already worked for major brands and have dressed big-name celebrities.

The company hasn’t announced a specific release date for the show nor given a lot of detail about the content but did say it will be a “high stakes competition”. Each episode will see the contestants being set a challenge and the focus will be trends and styles that have "influenced the way the entire world dresses.”

The judges include Instagram's director of fashion partnerships Eva Chen and celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart.
