Arc’teryx opens largest retail location in Canada

Vancouver-based outdoor retailer Arc’teryx opened its largest store in Canada over the weekend, in Victoria, B.C. 

Located on historic Government Street, in the heart of the downtown shopping district, the outdoor focused store houses the full suite of Arc’teryx products including climbing, hiking, trail running, and lifestyle options in a 3,850 square-foot space. 

Similarly to a number of athletic and technical brands such as Lululemon and Decathlon, Arc’teryx opened a gathering place in the new store to host meet-ups, clinics and events for the community. 

It also offers an interactive retail experience with features like a digital map of the West Coast Trail allowing customers to visualize their hiking trip, while having access to expert product guides.

"The new retail store is a thoughtfully designed, bright and modern space to inspire and connect customers to the many incredible parks, trails, and rugged coastlines around Victoria,” said Stephanie Jamieson, global retail marketing manager, in a news statement. 

"We are proud to provide a retail experience that truly reflects our passion for the outdoors.”

The company currently operates 50 branded stores including ten in Canada. 

Most recently, in December, it unveiled its first lifestyle concept store in Burnaby, BC, which brings together the largest selection of the company’s lifestyle line with select exclusive items.

Arc’teryx was founded in 1989. It was purchased in 2005 by Finland-based Amer Sports. It is equally distributed through more than 3,000 retail locations worldwide.
