Inditex has strengthened its presence in the USA. On 17th October, the Spanish apparel group has gained a foothold for its young fashion label Bershka in New York's SoHo district, opening a pop-up store which will be operational until the end of the year. It is the label' first physical presence in the USA, supporting Bershka's e-commerce launch which took place last spring.

Bershka targeted the SoHo district, setting up shop in 760-m2 premises located at 580 Broadway. It is a test for the retailer, which could eventually establish a longer-lasting presence in the USA.

The store showcases a selection from Bershka's men's and women's collections and does its best to immerse customers in the trendy, casual atmosphere typical of the label founded in 1998. Bershka has a strong affinity with the world of pop music, and the store's design concept, first introduced in 2015 and labelled 'Stage', features industrial-style interiors, echoing a concert stage and revealing the building’s bare fixtures, with scaffolding-like structures used as racks.

Less than ten years after its creation, Bershka now operates 1,098 stores in 75 countries, and its e-tail site is deployed in 35 markets. Its sales account for approximately 10% of the Inditex group's revenue, and grew by 14% in the first half of 2017.
