Billy Reid on Friday opened a month-long pop up shop at Magasin in Culver City, CA. The shop marks as the first Billy Reid location on the west coast.

To celebrate the opening, the CFDA Award winning designer held his first-ever made-to-measure event with specialist Mila Pielaet.

The partnership with Magasin came easy for Reid, considering his friendship with Magasin co-founder Josh Peskowitz. Peskowitz, alongside Simon Golby and Christophe Desmaison, opened Magasin in spring 2016. Prior to opening the multibrand menswear retailer, Peskowitz served as Men’s Fashion Director of Bloomingdale’s, and Golby and Desmaison opened New York City-based showroom CD Network. The duo continues to operate their showroom in addition to working on Magasin.

Reid, prior to opening the pop up, has been doing philanthropic work with his designs. In late 2016, the designer partnered with Ebbets Field Flannel to create Fleur de Lis baseball caps to support the Louisiana Flood Relief, and in 2017, he launched Mardi Gras beads with Pamela Love for non-profit organization The Roots of Music and launched two limited edition shirts with all proceeds being donated to the Trombone Shorty Foundation.

Billy Reid currently operates stores in New York City; Chicago; Washington DC; Austin, Dallas and Houston in Texas; New Orleans; Nashville; Florence, AL; and Charleston, SC.
