Birkenstock opens third U.S. flagship in Brooklyn
Germany-based footwear brand Birkenstock is expanding its presence in the U.S. with a new flagship store in Brooklyn, in the popular Williamsburg neighborhood.
“Williamsburg, Brooklyn is the perfect neighborhood to celebrate and interact with our brand fans in the area. It is a vibrant place unlike any other and serves a new generation of families and urban creatives,” said David Kahan, CEO of Birkenstock Americas.
“We’re proud to have found a new home for Birkenstock right in the heart of Brooklyn.”
Located at 111 North 6th Street, the store’s design perfectly embodies the brand’s DNA. Designed with sleek and contemporary style, a mix of elements such as cork, leather and white oak create a bright and naturally comfortable environment. The store is home to the brand’s full footwear collection, including styles for men, women and kids, as well as special limited-edition collaborations and the Birkenstock Natural Skin Care line.
The new store opening marks only the brand’s third U.S. retail store, while it counts 54 owned stores globally. Its first U.S. flagship opened in New York’s SoHo neighborhood in 2018, and was followed by a location in Venice Beach, California, in 2019.
Earlier this year, Birkenstock agreed to sell a majority stake to LVMH-backed private equity firm L Catterton.
