Most recently, Pépion was the Managing Director Canada of Swarovski (Consumer Goods Business) where she was responsible for Swarovski's Canadian retail and wholesale operations, marketing and merchandising.

Prior to joining Swarovski in 2009 where she held various roles, she was with Gucci Group Watches sales management from February 2007 to January 2009 and was a District Manager for Puig Prestige in 2005 and 2006.

"I am very pleased to welcome Aurélie Pépion to Birks Group. Her experience and knowledge in the luxury jewelry retail industry as well as her omni-channel expertise will be key assets for Birks Group as we continue the development of the Birks product brand and the transformation of our stores network in Canada," said President and CEO Jean-Christophe Bédos.

The company operates 28 stores under the Birks brand in most major metropolitan markets in Canada and two retail locations in Calgary and Vancouver under the Brinkhaus brand.

Last year, Birks entered the United Kingdom when it signed a definitive agreement to sell its subsidiary, Mayor's Jewelers, Inc. ("Mayors"), to Aurum Holdings Ltd. ("Aurum"), the largest fine watch and jewelry retailer in the U.K.

The Birks brand collections of fine jewellery is now offered in 12 locations across the U.K., at various Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths locations as well as through the two banners' e-commerce sites.
