Burlington Board member Frank Cooper, III resigns

Burlington Stores announced on Thursday that Frank Cooper, III resigned from the Board of Directors, effective December 5, 2016.

Cooper, who has joined BlackRock, Inc., was a Burlington Board member since 2014 and he served on Burlington’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Due to his new position with BlackRock, he will not be serving on public company boards.
 
Prior to BlackRock, Cooper served as CMO and COO of BuzzFeed for almost two years. He also worked at Pepsi, America Online and Def Jam Recordings.

The Burlington Board of Directors has decreased in size to nine members following Cooper’s departure.
 
The company recently increased its full year expectations after posting positive third quarter results that exceeded its guidance. Net income increased 114.4% to $32.4 million, or $0.45 per diluted share.
