Philippine designer Rosenthal Tee is set to make her solo debut at New York Fashion Week on Sunday, September 11. The designer first debuted at the Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers’s I’mpossible Challenge collective for fall 2016 in February alongside Montreal-based designer Pedram Karimi.
Tee produces luxury ready-to-wear inspired by the patterns and architecture of Manila, the capital city of her home country, and London, where she studied at Istituto Marangoni and earned her Masters Fashion Design Womenswear. The designer felt compelled to hold a spring 2017 show after her very favorable response in February.
“It was very easy making the decision to return for the Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week,” she said. “My showcase earlier this year was nothing less than a success, and I am thankful to all involved. I have prepared a collection for this season that will, in my eyes, blow away all my previous designs. You will not want to miss this show!”
The I’mpossible Challenge from CAAFD, where Tee captured the attention of the industry elite, highlights young emerging and promising fashion designers. This season, the challenge will include the debut showcases of Ponyo Porco, Jessica Van, Laison by Aurelia Santoso and the North American debut of Russian designer Irina Vitjaz.
The CAAFD is a non-profit organization that educates, promotes and empowers aspiring designers and fashion professionals in gaining a foothold in the fashion industry. Its partner for this season’s I’mpossible Challenge, iFashion Network, is an online global fashion hub providing articles on designers, events, menswear, women’s wear, shopping and trends among others.
The I’mpossible Collective Showcase will be held on September 11 at 1pm and the Rosenthal Tee spring 2017 show will be held at 7pm.
