Christopher Raeburn names Rapha's Graeme Raeburn performance director

Christopher Raeburn has named his brother Graeme as performance director at his brand, which may not sound like earth-shattering news, but certainly is given the changes happening at the label and Graeme R’s own impressive background.

Christopher Raeburn’s label is getting close to its 10th anniversary and as he was recently named global creative director of Timberland, the designer clearly feels the need for a dynamic and trustworthy leadership boost at his company.

Graeme Raeburn seems to fit that bill and has his own impressive track record. He’s been at fast-expanding cycling influencer brand Rapha for the last decade and was the senior designer there across men’s, women’s and accessories so he has plenty of experience of a label in a major growth phase.

He said of his latest move: “Christopher Raeburn is a tremendously exciting and dynamic brand. What my brother, Christopher, and his team have achieved in 10 years is nothing short of incredible. I’m excited to combine expertise in materials, products, and fabrication with sustainable and responsible design practices.”

His arrival comes, as mentioned, at a time when his brother will be increasingly dividing his time between his own brand and his work at Timberland.

And Christopher Raeburn himself seemed to suggest that his appointment wasn’t a forgone conclusion, despite the family connection. “It’s a real coup for us to bring someone of Graeme’s calibre into our business, and we are excited to bring our collective design approaches and truly fuse fashion and function as we enter the next chapter of the business,” he said.
