Net sales for the quarter increased 3% to $699.4 million from $677.0 million in the previous year’s fourth quarter. Operating income for the quarter increased to $82.3 million and net income also increased 14% to $63.4 million from $55.6 million. The fourth quarter sales were driven by growth from the Columbia, Sorel, prAna and Mountain Hardwear brands and were offset by sales declines from the overseas business.

Full year net sales increased 11%, or $225.6 million, to a record $2.33 billion, while operating income increased 26% to a record $249.7 million. The full year net income also achieved record numbers increasing 27% to a record $174.3 million compared to $137.2 million in the previous year.

Chief Executive Officer Tim Boyle commented, “We had high expectations entering the year and are encouraged that we exceeded those expectations despite unseasonably warm weather, macroeconomic challenges, and currency headwinds in many of our key markets. We believe this illustrates that active consumers appreciate the versatility and relevance of our brands, each offering products that connect them with their passions year-round in all weather conditions.”

For 2016, the company expects mid-single-digit net sales growth compared to 2015 net sales of $2.33 billion.
